Random thoughts ping ponged through his noggin. He was trying to get them to stop as he sat on a fallen log at the edge of the meadow. He wanted to replace the thoughts with something profoundly more powerful.

He wanted to feel the energy of creation; the force behind all things. He wanted to be subsumed by it. Surrendering to it was what he wanted more than everything.

“Hey douche bag.”

Cameron turned on the log to look behind him. His friend Steve was headed towards him. So much for a quiet meditation in the meadow.

“I thought I’d find you out here. Communing with nature are you?” Steve sat down on the log next to Cameron.

“Yeah, something like that. It’s a beautiful day. Why be indoors?”

“Well, I agree with you. That’s why I’m out here. I’m in the mood for some hiking or mountain climbing or kayaking or fishing or horseback riding or dirt biking. What do you say? Or do you just wanna be all by yourself connecting to the Universe?”

“That was my intention.”

“Listen Cameron, I figure I’ll connect with the Universe when I kick the bucket. So why bother doing it until then? Life is for living. Ya gotta grab it by the balls. Live it fully. Dude, what’s…
