Whatever we fight, we empower. What we resist, persists. This horrifying election is showing us everything that we’ve been fighting against. It is showing us where we having been putting our energy.
It is time to stop fighting. It is time to redirect our energy away from fighting into building. Instead of fighting what we don’t want we need to build what we do want. Without our energy, what we’ve been fighting will wither and die. Without our energy, what we really do want cannot grow.
The future of humankind has been dealt a humongous slap across the face. That is just what we needed. We need to stop looking towards leaders to solve our problems. To paraphrase Gandhi, we — each of us individually — need to be the change that we want to see in the world.
If we want to see our votes count we need to turn each and every one of our thoughts, emotions and actions into a vote.
Trump didn’t really win. He woke us up. The only way we lose is if we go back to sleep.
