What a delightful fantasy, Mark!

When I was young, both as a child and as a young adult, I used to fly ALL THE TIME. A 16 hour transcontinental flight was a joy for me. Frequent Flyer Miles had not been invented yet back then but if they had been I would probably have enough accrued to fly around globe a few times.

But that was then. Now it’s been 28 years since I’ve been on a plane (since pre-9–11). 28 years! A journey like you described, Mark, would be something that would get me back on a plane. I would love it.

When you come to visit I would rather not give you a tour of my current environs because there is nothing to see but endless kilometers of corn fields. It’s a landscape of utter dreariness. I’d rather give you a tour of where I used to live (Northern New Mexico and Colorado). There I could give you a month-long tour and not even begin to scratch the surface of things to see. (We would have to wear shoes for a lot of that.)

If and when you can come visit I will tell you a few secrets that I just can’t reveal on line. (I’ll just leave it at that.)

I’ve been to a few countries in Europe and even lived in Europe for a few years but I’ve never been to England. When I was a teenager I desperately wanted to visit England and I had a fantasy of having my picture taken crossing Abbey Road at that same crosswalk the Four Famous Lads walked across in that iconic photo. Of course, now I vehemently refuse to allow anyone to take my picture but I’d still like to walk across that crosswalk. But when I get around to taking my whirlwind global flight to visit Medium folk and get to England I’ll let you create the sight-seeing itinerary.

Until then…
