The Lay of the Land
The day the accountant showed up
(A Lucas Winslow Story — Episode 4)
He had not yet owned the property for a full week but he had already walked over all 22 acres of it. He had found five power spots and today on the sixth day of his new ownership he found the final sixth power spot.
It was located at the very western edge of the property in the old abandoned field. The field had not held any grazing livestock in many years. The barbed wire fence on the western side of the field was no longer functional. There were still many wooden posts but very little barbed wire left. Some of the posts were slanted towards the ground and some of them were missing.
Turning around in a full circle he surveyed the field. Most of the field had reverted to natural scrub brush but there was still some grass left — grass that horses might feed on. He figured the field had not been irrigated in several years. He noticed a few small patches of young prickly pear cacti poking up from the earth and a few young yucca plants popping up in what once was a field of grass.
The rocks in the field had been cleared except for four rather large ones that he was now standing in the middle of. Why were these four rocks left in the field? They were all of similar size and they were all in exact distances from each other…
