The Giant Sunflower
And the silly lovers
Raz and Lorna were in love. One day Lorna went out to their yard where Raz was standing motionless gazing into a giant sunflower that was leaning in over the neighbor’s fence.
“Whatchya doin’?”
Raz turned to face Lorna, “Ah, I can see you! What I was doing was proving to myself and the world that staring into a sunflower will not make you go blind.”
Lorna laughed.
Raz stepped back, “You try it.”
Lorna stepped up to the sunflower and stared at it for a few minutes. She then turned to Raz with unfocused eyes and hands reaching out into the air, “Oh my god! Where are you Raz? I can’t see! I’m blind!”
Raz pulled her into his arms and kissed her long and hard.
Lorna pulled back, “Oh my god! I can see again! I’m healed!”
