Thanks for the heads up, anna breslin . I found several of my articles plagiarized on that site. I sent the appropriate DMCA takedown notices but nothing has happened so far. I have a feeling that they will simply ignore the notices. Medium authors desperately need Ev Williams help with this. Instead of thousands of Medium authors hiring lawyers (which most of us cannot afford) maybe Ev can get his lawyers on the job.

This underscores the extreme importance of every Medium author posting a copyright notice at the bottom of their articles and stories (as I always do). Without that notice any claim you make in court will not stand up. The copyright notice obviously won’t stop illegal thugs from stealing your work but it gives you a legal standing upon which you can make a claim. Always, always, always print that copyright notice at the bottom of every piece you publish here on Medium or anywhere else!
