Thank you so, so much for your response Susan. I've only met one female my entire life who is as cuckoo for rocks as I am. Now I know there is at least one more. And I'm sure there are others. I really should have written "most females" instead of just "females."
Speaking of females, neither of my two granddaughters are crazy for rocks but one of them is totally gaga about seashells. Did you know that you can go hiking way up in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and find seashells? Weird but true.
I spent a small part of my childhood in and around Pennsylvania and I love their rocks. There is a place somewhere near the Pennsylvania/Maryland border (I think it may be in Maryland) called Rocks State Park. I loved going there as a child.
Sadly, where I now live on the Great Plains there are no rocks. None. You can dig all day and not find any rocks bigger than a marble. It's just heaps and heaps of dirt. For me, that's not healthy.
I've read all the James Redfield books and loved them. I'm really surprised that I have never lived next door to a geologist. Thanks again for sharing.
