If {fill in your event here} hadn’t happened, I never would have… and now, the difference is that I bless each and every event, no matter its outward appearance. Because we don’t know what we don’t know.
Ten years ago I said good-bye to the one human I was closer to than any other. That year I also “came down” with terminal cancer. (Yes, the events are related.) Both of these events led me onto a path of learning the art of blessing. It is one of the most powerful things I have ever learned in this life.
One of the things I like about the summer solstice is that it heralds the entrance into the astrological cycle of Cancer. Everything that happens to me during this cycle is always an intense blessing (no matter what it first looks like). I got married during Cancer — to a woman born under the sign of Cancer — then 22 years later we got divorced… during Cancer. I opened my business during the sign of Cancer then 9 years later I closed that business during the sign of Cancer. Both of the times I ended up in the hospital under a surgeon’s scalpel was during Cancer. I could go on and on but you get the picture. It is always an intense time for me.
In the ancient Chaldean/Kabbalah system of numerology the number 10 is known as the “Wheel of Fortune.” It has nothing to do with Pat Sajak or Vanna White but rather it is associated with Isis and Osiris of ancient Egyptian fame. It is the number of “rise and fall” according to personal paths and desires. It signals both a fall that turns into a rise and a rise that suddenly turns into a fall. It represents the intense power of manifestation for either absolute creation or absolute destruction. There is no middle ground with the number 10. It’s ultimate lesson is that ‘every event is self-determined.’
Anyhoo, enough of the woo-woo. I hope you have the most fantabularious birthday. And bless you for sharing.
