Sylvia and Ramon
And their perfect love
They were so happy. They had no idea how doomed they were, which was a good thing. If they knew they certainly would not have been able to be happy.
Some people wish they could see and predict the future. Luckily, there is a part of the human brain that usually prevents that. It’s the part that keeps us bound to the concept of linear time.
But when one is fully immersed in the NOW one can transcend linear time.
Sylvia and Ramon were not only fully immersed in the NOW but also fully immersed in each other. The rest of the world seemed to have disappeared. They had gone beyond being in love. They had gone beyond being lovers. They had become one.
Walking merrily hand-in-hand down the beach one warm summer day, Ramon was suddenly overcome with a feeling of dread. Looking around him, he was shocked to see that it was snowing. Shaking his head, the snow disappeared.
“What’s the matter?”
“Oh… uh… it’s nothing, Sylvia. I just had a weird feeling… And for a second there I thought it was snowing.”
“Snowing?” Sylvia laughed.
Ramon laughed, too, putting the incident immediately behind him.
