Sprinkly
Diary of an Earthling
After five weeks of 100+ degree weather (Fahrenheit), the last couple of days have been a much-needed reprieve from the brutal heat. It is cloudy and cool and sprinkly with temperatures not surpassing 80. The air conditioner is turned off and all the windows are wide open and the birds are singing like crazy. Mother Nature: You gotta love her. She might throw you into a boiling hot cauldron but she’ll pull you back before it’s too late.
Am I lucky, or what? I guess that is determined based on one’s opinion about luck. Is it real? Is it pure coincidence? Or are there vibrations in play? What’s the difference between luck and mojo?
Speaking of birds, things are getting back to normal at the White Feather Bird Cafe. This year I hung two bird feeders from the end of the porch roof just above my little garden of potted flowers. The porch now has a real outdoor cafe vibe going on. But last week I ran out of bird food! For three whole days there was no food available at the White Feather Bird Cafe. How could I be so negligent? As the proprietor of a cafe it is my responsibility to make sure there is food on the table every day. With the feeders now full the cafe is buzzing again and the birds appear to have forgiven me for those three days last week — or maybe they just forgot about it.
