Sniffing Orchids

To attain enlightenment

--

Not counting hybrids there are well over 20,000 different species of orchids on our wondrous planet. Did you know that there is one specific neuron in our noggin for each and every one of those species?

When we take a deep sniff of an orchid the corresponding neuron in our noggin for that particular species lights up. Since there are over 20,000 species of orchids there are over 20,000 neurons in our noggin; one for each and every specie.

See how connected we are to this fantabulous planet?

If one was to travel all over the planet with the intention of sniffing every specie of orchid (including the ones that haven’t been discovered yet) then one can light up all the corresponding neurons in one’s brain that correspond to those species and then…

Voila! One would become enlightened.

It’s true. At least that’s what I’ve heard. Personally, I’ve only sniffed around 40 different species of orchid so far. I still have a long way to go to become enlightened. I’m still pretty dumb but I can tell you that I never see an orchid without sniffing it.
