Ronald C. Flores-Gunkle I loved your article! I think commuting is one of the great travesties of modern living. If you can’t get to work in under 5 minutes then you simply live too far from your work. Many decades ago I used to drive for 45 minutes just to get to work. Now I would kill myself before ever undertaking such a commute. To spend an hour and a half each day just to get to a job and back is just insane! No job is worth that.

But millions of people do it. If that were to change our planet would become so much less polluted and the negative vibrations from humankind would greatly reduce, producing a much happier world.

Over a decade ago I lived in an apartment on the second floor of an 128 year old building. I owned and ran a business on the first floor. It took me slightly less than a minute to commute to work. My dog, who came to work with me each day, made the commute in under 10 seconds. It always amazed me how she flew down those stairs.

When I hear about people who take a half-hour or hour long train ride to work each day (and back) I just want to cry. To me, it is utterly senseless. It is beyond stupid.

Right now I have a part-time job to supplement my earnings as a writer. It is just two blocks away from where I live. It takes me between 3 and 4 minutes to walk to work. (If I drove it would take me 5 to 7 minutes because of having to find a parking spot and then walk to the business.) I would never take a job that took more than 5 minutes to commute to. No job is worth that.
