Recharging
A powerful and free cure
Yesterday was my day off from my job. I always look forward to my days off because then I can spend most of the day writing. I usually get about four times as much writing done on my two days off than I do the other five days of the week combined.
But yesterday I did not write a single word. Not one!
And it was truly wonderful!
I booted up the old laptop and came to Medium. It is a daily thing. But yesterday after doing some browsing and reading for about fifteen minutes all I wanted to do was leave and shut the laptop down. I realized that I needed to do some recharging.
I am an extremely solar human! If you ever wanted to kill me all you would have to do is lock me in a room without windows for about three to four days. After the first day without life-giving sunshine I would be starting to go certifiably cuckoo. After the second day I would be drained of all energy and I would be almost suicidal. After the third day I would be all shriveled up and on my deathbed. It is very unlikely I would survive the fourth day. That is how crucially important sunshine is to me.
My mood and energy swings with the pendulum of seasons. In the winter, when there is very little sunshine, I have little energy and it is difficult to get excited about anything. In summer…
