Never mind that Woody Allen is still alive but Jesse Eisenberg is a young reincarnation of Woody Allen…. Except he is way sexier, slightly more assertive but less funny and thankfully glasses are not part of his face.

I wonder how many people disagree with that assessment. It probably depends on one’s views on Woody Allen. Eisenberg has now appeared in a couple of Woody Allen films and each time I have gotten the impression that Woody was casting him to play a younger version of himself. (See Cafe Society and To Rome With Love.) Thank goodness he has appeared in many other films playing roles that help to shake that Allen-esque image.

Back in the early 1980’s I would have killed to have drinks with Woody Allen. Now I would certainly delight in having drinks with Jesse Eisenberg. It would probably be quite bizarre to have drinks with both of them at the same time. I would feel confidently heterosexual watching for the quirks and tics they might share. If I developed a ‘celebrity crush’ I’m guessing it would probably be for Jesse. I agree that he’s hot in a way that totally side-steps the prevailing definition of hot used by most women — and most men.

I haven’t seen the comic book action hero movies that he’s been in because I don’t watch those kind of movies but I’ve seen most of his other movies and I find him very endearing. (Much, much more so than Angelina Jolie.)
