My favorite Taylor Caldwell book was, The Romance of Atlantis, which she wrote when she was just 12 years old but did not publish for many, many years because she was afraid of how it would be received and also because she had no idea where the story came from. At that age she had no knowledge of the historical mythology the book portrayed and she wondered if perhaps she had ‘channeled’ it. It was quite different from any of the books she wrote as an adult.
