The weaving of time
Distant music resurfaces
Old feelings are felt
What if I had taken
Those other timelines?
Where would they have led?
What history would have played out?
How different would it now be?
What face would I be seeing?
A song surrounds the moment
And carries it forth
Into the future that is now
Was it all meant to be?
Was the music perfect?
Or did it lead me astray?
What were the lyrics saying?
Do they make more sense now?
I brought the past with me
It lingers in the background
When hearing it again
The emotions return
The mistakes become clear
The direction seems obvious
And the unseen joy
Becomes visible
Is there a past and a future
When music is playing?
Does music bring me back
To the now of it all?
