Most of those humans who know me have heard me repeat one of my most repeated aphorisms, “Why run when you can walk?” Some of them have even heard me say, “Why bike when you can walk?” I think I just came up with a new adage; “Why run, bike or walk when you can sit in a comfortable chair and read good fiction?” And that story was delightful fiction, Stephen M. Tomic . It was almost good enough to make me want to get a bike. The ending kind of put a damper on that, though. Being a grandpa with two granddaughters, I’m just glad the little girl in pigtails was safe.
