Subtle mass killing connections
I have a very dear new agey friend who, on occasion, has called herself a Buddhist. She has numerous Buddha statues around her home, although I’m not sure that qualifies her as a Buddhist. She has used several other labels in describing herself as well. She also has a picture of the Dalai Lama on her altar as well as one of Martin Luther King, Jr. and a couple of photos of Hindu saints I can’t remember the names of. Her primary spiritual practice is drawing mandalas.
Anyway, she once told me that every spot on the planet has a corresponding spot somewhere else on the planet. The connection might be geophysical (as in earthquakes and volcanoes) or it might be historical or it might be vibratory (as in spiritual consciousness). According to her, when a major event happens in a particular place, a reciprocating event happens at the corresponding spot elsewhere on the planet.
If you have been following the news — and going deep below the headlines — then you know that there has been a mass killing going on across the globe in the Buddhist nation of Myanmar — formally known as Burma. The killing has been escalating to genocidal proportions.
The victims of this genocide are a Muslim minority and it is being perpetrated against them by the Buddhist majority. Richard Gere is surely freaking out. Buddhism…
