Illusions of Separation

The barriers we create

Earthling, this is your world
Everything you see is part of you
Everything you feel is part of you
Every mountain is part of you
Every human is part of you

We are so much more than a body and a brain
Each of us is an entire universe
But we see ourselves as separate
Just a bag of bones
With a noggin on top

Thanks to the birds we can fly
Thanks to the fish we can swim
Thanks to the rivers we can flow
Thanks to the clouds we can cry
Thanks to the trees we can breathe

Every single atom in the world
Is part of us just as we
Are part of every single atom
But we cannot see
Through the illusion of separation

Our outer senses trick us
But our inner senses reveal
The oneness of all things
The connection to all things
The love our world was created with
