I would love to know Medium’s criteria for “super amateur writers” and “super professional writers.” I’ve been a professional writer for around three decades. But I don’t have thousands of Medium followers and only once have I gotten more than 1K views on something I’ve written here. Does that automatically make me an amateur? I would rather not be judged on a quantitative scale. But that seems to be the only way Medium judges or categorizes anything. I’d rather not be judged at all. But if you insist on judging and categorizing your users I would prefer that you categorize me as a kindergartner. That way I don’t have to live up to the hype.
