I was always amazed by the irony of the fact that my wolf-dog was deathly afraid of water yet her favorite thing in the world was snow — which, of course, is water. Being an arctic canine it was perfectly natural to love playing in the snow. Your story brought up a lot of wonderful memories. Thank you.

As for snow, it is very difficult for me right now to enjoy it. The snow that fell here back in November is still on the ground buried under layers of snow that have fallen since then. We have had more snow this winter (so far) than we’ve had in the last seven winters combined. It’s like I’ve been teleported to Greenland or something. The doggie in my heart is surely disappointed in me. She is the one who taught me how much fun snow can be. But seriously, enough already!

The wolf-dog in my heart just reminded me that the reason I’m not happy with all the snow currently on the ground is because it is old snow. It’s hard and dirty. It’s the fresh brand new snow that is so much fun. I replied to her, Okay, I promise I’ll have fun the next time it snows but can the all snow on the ground melt first before it snows again? She didn’t answer that.
