I thoroughly agree with this. I find pull quotes to be very annoying and extremely redundant. They seem to be designed for those with not enough attention span to actually read an article. I do agree that they can be used effectively (especially in print) but they almost never are. Personally, I never employ pull quotes because I want readers to read my entire articles and not just a few highlighted sentences and then claim that they read the article.
