I had no idea what a ‘capsule wardrobe’ was until I read this article. It now makes so much sense to me.

Did you know that never in my life did I ever wear sweatpants (or any kind of ‘sweat clothes’) until I was well into my fifties? Now they are like the most perfect clothes. I’m wearing sweatpants right now as I write this.

Once, in my late fifties I was desperately wanting to move but I had no idea where to move to. I had a huge map of Turtle Island (North America) on my bedroom wall which included large swaths of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Hanging in my ‘playroom’ was a dart board. Occasionally when my daughter would come over we would play darts like we used to when we were younger.

So I went into the ‘playroom’ and grabbed a dart. Going back into the bedroom I stood before the giant map on my wall and I took three deep breaths. I then closed my eyes and spun around several times in a clock-wise direction then again in a counter clock-wise direction. I then threw the dart, not knowing if I would even be facing in the right direction to hit the map. Where ever the dart landed, that is where I would go.

With my eyes still closed, I threw the dart. When I opened my eyes I realized that the dart landed smack-dab in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

Okay, so that didn’t work!

Today, I no longer have any maps on my walls and I no longer own any darts. I have a sneaking suspicion, though, that I might own the right wardrobe.
