I don’t think there have been any truly matriarchal societies in the last twelve to fifteen thousand years. The pendulum swings back and forth between male energy and female energy and we’ve been in a male energy period for many thousands of years now. The pendulum, however, is currently swinging back in the other direction. (It’s a very long process.)

The important thing to realize is that neither a patriarchal society nor a matriarchal society is perfect because they are both out of balance. It’s when the two energies are in balance that things seem near-perfect and opportunities for profound spiritual awakening open up. As the pendulum swings back and forth it’s in the very middle of the swing when balance can more easily and naturally occur. Some say that position of balance can last up to a thousand years. (The pendulum swings very slowly.)

Of course the directional force of momentum can still come into play to skew balance a tiny bit when in the middle part of the swing.

Since God does not have a penis or vagina the best use of a pronoun would be, ‘it.’ That would freak everyone out, however. I prefer to avoid using gendered pronouns as well as the word, ‘God,’ which automatically brings up gendered associations. I prefer the word, ‘Source,’ which is gender neutral and free of habitual associations. I’m hoping it will catch on but that may take a very long time.
