“ A fiction writer’s sole job is to create three-dimensional images in the reader’s head with their words.”

I disagree. Equally important is to create a feeling-tone resonation in the reader’s heart. Fiction writers must not only go after a reader’s noggin but also their heart. The reader must not just see the picture but also FEEL it! Without this, visual effects fall flat.

One of the best things a fiction writer can do is pretend they are writing for a blind person. Make them feel it! Make them feel it so profoundly that they can see it even though they are blind.
