By the way, I like Carole King’s version of her own song, You’ve Got a Friend, better than James Taylor’s version. Mind you, I love James Taylor’s cover version but it doesn’t quite hit the frequency vibration of Carole’s version. That’s another song I used to sing to my wee one and I think I probably sounded a lot more like James Taylor than Carole King. I’m wondering if that has anything to do with the Adam’s Apple.

You know, that iconic Tapestry cover photo of Carole sitting on a windowsill with a cat really made me want to get a cat. Seriously!

And a windowsill I could call my own.

Yes, as a teenager and young man Carole King was one of my heroes. To be honest, most of my heroes throughout my life have been female. And the same can be said of my teachers.
