I am a pooler and, since I eat pizza with a knife and a fork in a civilized manner, I am apparently also a sociopath. (I also eat spaghetti with a knife and fork and never do that uncivilized animalistic slurping thing.) I agree with Mr. Tolle that a need to be right can be a form of violence but I also feel that it, with the right amount of self-awareness, can also be used as a form of humor. An example of this is my own recent article: The Correct Way to Eat French Fries.
I loved your article, Jessica Bloom . Another way of looking at the pooler/drizzler divide is through artistic entertainment. I fell in love with Meg Ryan when I first saw When Harry Met Sally. Why? Because Sally was a pooler and Harry was an implied drizzler. A study of their culinary pathologies is consistent with clinical studies but much more fun and entertaining.
