For me, the symbolism of a spoon in the road as opposed to a fork in the road is that I didn’t necessarily need to make a major change in direction in my life but I needed to more fully enjoy and live my life as it was at the time. Imagine you’re eating a bowl of really good soup. If you’re eating it with a fork you’re going to miss out on a lot of what the soup has to offer. With a spoon you can shovel that soup into your mouth and truly enjoy the hell out of it. Change is a constant part of life but if we are overly focused on the change we can forget to enjoy that part of our life that hasn’t changed yet. “Be here now,” said the spoon.
