Good question, Georgia Mrkvicka Westphal . My experience is that any story that is serialized in any way does not do very well on Medium. People don’t want to read Part 1 then have to wait for Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4. They want to click on something, read it and be done with it. It’s all part of the ever-shrinking attention span of internet users. Sadly, the trick to getting read on Medium (and getting noticed by the curating staff) is to keep everything as short as possible. But that is just my experience. I have noticed that there are at least a couple of Medium writers who have had some modest success with serialization. If you use the Medium Serial function that only works on phones so you’ll be significantly restricting your audience by going that route. I wish Medium would come up with a serialization/chapters function for desktop readers/writers.
