Awakening with a full bladder

The alarm clock went off and God begrudgingly began waking up, reaching over to the bedside table to turn off the alarm. With the alarm off, God huddled under the covers slowly waking up. It was a cold morning and God’s bladder was full but God didn’t want to get out from under the warm sheets. God did not want to wake up.

In a state halfway between dreams and wakefulness, God reviewed the dreams of just a few minutes before and wanted to return to them. They were a reality that was natural and seemed to take no physical effort. They replayed the dramas of life that made God feel whole and part of it all. Dreams were honest and seemed to be controlled by a reality that was beyond the illusions and emotional drama and physical hardship of the awake state. The emotions and drama were still there but they could be seen through and understood. They could be understood simply through feeling them. Everything made sense and nothing seemed hidden. The love beneath every action could be felt. God loved dreams.

But the dreams started fading away. Sad, God tried to hold onto the dreams but the more God awoke, the more the dreams faded away. Soon, God’s eyes were wide awake and God’s thoughts were on the new day.
