Birds, bunnies, lions, water and the moon

I went to the beach yesterday.

Okay, that is not exactly true. I happen to live as far away from a real beach as anyone who lives on Turtle Island can. I live smack dab in the very center of Turtle Island thousands of miles from the nearest beach.

What I actually did yesterday was to walk out to The Pond south of town. I’ve checked numerous maps and apparently this small body of water does not have a name. All the locals simply call it, The Pond. It’s too small to be considered a lake but for a pond it is of fair size. It takes about twenty-five minutes to walk around it — forty-five minutes if I’m really enjoying myself.

It is around a half-hour walk to The Pond and a half-hour walk back. Add another half-hour or so walking around The Pond and that’s a fair amount of walking. Back when I owned a vehicle I used to drive down there almost every single day year-round. Now, being relegated to pedestrian locomotion, I don’t get down there nearly as often, in fact it had been over a month since I was down there.

I’m a fire sign and have a lot of fire in my chart. I need water on a regular basis in order to keep from burning up. That’s why every astrologer who has ever seen my chart has insisted that I live as close to an ocean as possible. Meanwhile I…
