Excellent story. Thanks. I was very lucky to never have had any nicknames growing up. As an adult I have loved the only two nicknames I've had: Dad and Grandpa. My daughter has an uncorruptable and unabbreviateable name so she never had nicknames either. Both of her daughters, though, have nicknames but I refuse to ever call them by their nicknames. I only use their actual names. And they only call me Grandpa. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure they even know what my actual name is.
