Delaney Croft , this is what I suggest: Take your calendar off the wall of your kitchen or whatever room it is in. Take it off the wall and shred it into a million pieces and throw it in the trash.
Sit down at your desk, at your computer or laptop or whatever devise you use. And just write. Just write! Don’t ever attach your writing to a linear timetable. Don’t ever look at the clock. Don’t ever look at the calendar. Ignore your notes. Just write.
The only writing of consequence comes from writing in the NOW. Just write what comes out of the NOW. That is where your muse is. That is where your connection to the real you of you is. That is where the flow is.
Great literature, great writing, writing that moves people, never has a time stamp on it. People who read your writing aren’t going to think, “Oh yeah! I read that in November!”
Throw your calendar away! Make your writing timeless!
