Although Rainbow Patrollers go through an annual Rainbow Quest each year they are in Rainbow College, it doesn’t stop there. Part of the oath we take upon graduating from Rainbow College is pledging to keep doing at least one Rainbow Quest a year for the rest of our lives. The big difference between the Rainbow Quests we undertake while in Rainbow College and the ones we do for the rest of our lives is that once we’ve graduated we can pick where we want to do a Rainbow Quest. Personally, I never would have picked northern Sweden. I’ve done quite a few Rainbow Quests since I graduated but for most of them I picked really cool places like the Amazon, the Nazca Plateau, Samoa, the Punjab, Ayers Rock, the Badlands of North Dakota, the mountains surrounding Mesa Verde, the Olympic Peninsula, Macchu Pichu, the Kamchatka Peninsula, Mt. Ararat, the Gobi Desert, and others. Northern Scandinavia has never been on my list of places to quest but I have to say that I am eternally grateful for having been dropped off there.

I learned a lot on that Rainbow Quest in Sweden and it really helped to prepare me for graduation. My teachers were all quite surprised that I even survived. My successful Sweden quest really helped me to graduate first in my…
