Anna Breslin , I enjoyed your listicle but I’m not so sure about the title. I think the title would be more accurate if it read, These 7 tips will make you happier on Medium, for real. Those who clamor for quantitative success are often quite unhappy and those who are happy with their writing often fail to gain quantitative success. Perhaps a good 8th tip would be to suggest that people decide on their definitions of ‘success’ and ‘happiness,’ as usually there is some contradiction between the two and the realization and transformation of those contradictions can help lead to greater happiness or success.

As for tip #5 I wrote a story about that very subject not so long ago: Cold Turkey . It looks at the subject from a very different angle, though.
