After the Flood

The dance continues

--

Since the flood everything seemed different. While the valley was cleansed it was also stripped of so many of its defining elements. The life seemed to have been sucked out of it.

Of course there was life left upon closer inspection and that life was sure to spring forth again but the life was not instantly obvious. The valley looked dead, like ruins after a massive bombing.

Water is so very powerful. It gives life and it takes it away.

Sometimes water and air team up to create devastating tornadoes and hail. Sometimes they create beautiful and peaceful clouds. Sometimes they go their separate ways as air feeds horrific fires while water puts them out. They are partners who know many dances.

Earth seems so much more stable but we all know that can change in a heartbeat. That which rests on earth can tumble and crumble. Earth can also team up with water to create tsunamis. And rock can be shattered by water in its frozen state. Earth can be used by water to create sculptures and canyons.

While the elements dance we are here to watch the dance. And we can also feel the elements dance within us.

It is a dance we are all a part of whether we are aware of it or not. It is a dance we cannot opt out of. We must eventually get on the dance…
