A Little Song and Dance
On the power of silence
Without the contrast of light and dark it is impossible to create a beautiful painting. Likewise, without the contrast of silence and sound we cannot create beautiful music. Sound without silence becomes endless noise.
Imagine living with constant noise every minute of every day. Most people would find that unbearable. Imagine living with constant silence every minute of every day. Most people would find that unbearable, too. Finding a balance between the two, we can create beautiful music.
Many humans have constant noise going on in their noggins every minute of every day. One thought follows another endlessly. Mental/emotional loops play over and over and over. By consciously inserting moments of silence occasionally into the endless noise, we begin the process of turning noise into music. It can be a long process, depending on how ingrained the mental/emotional loops are, but those moments of pure silence, regularly inserted, begin to break up the noise and start providing the contrast needed for harmonious, inspiring music. Instead of repetitious noggin noise we will eventually be able to create music from the unconditional love consciousness flowing through us which the silence opens us up to. Our life can eventually become a wondrous song that we cannot help but dance to.
